Nightwolf is the latest Mortal Komabt 11 character to be unveiled via a gameplay trailer ahead of his August 13th early access DLC release. First appearing in MK3, Nightwolf joins Shang Tsung, Sindel, and Image Comics’ Spawn as the first set of downloadable characters for MK11, which has been out since April 2019. Two more upcoming guest characters have also been announced, but they are as-of-yet still unnamed. Originally born as Grey Cloud, Nightwolf is a member of the fictional Native American Makota tibe and was chosen by their Great Spirit to be its champion and protector....

The patches released address common vulnerabilities and exposures (CVEs) in: Microsoft Windows and Windows Components; Azure and Azure Arc; .NET and Visual Studio and .NET Framework; Microsoft Edge (Chromium-based); Office and Office Components; Windows Defender; and Linux Kernel. This release comes on top of 15 patches for CVEs in Microsoft Edge (Chromium-based) and one patch for side-channel speculation in Arm processors, as noted by Zero Day Initiative. By comparison, Microsoft disclosed 141 CVEs in August....

Microsoft announced today that it’s rolling out standalone Office apps for iPhone after releasing the Word, Excel, and PowerPoint apps exclusively for iPad earlier this year. Microsoft previously had an “Office Mobile” app for iPhone that integrated features of all three Office apps, but today’s release of standalone Word, Excel, and PowerPoint apps for iPhone are officially replacing Office Mobile as Microsoft’s Office solution for iPhone. Microsoft is also delivering updates for the Office iPad apps that include new features along with the ability to create and edit for free....

Microsoft has officially released Visual Studio for Mac following an extended preview period for developers. The release corresponds with the kick off of Microsoft’s Build 2017 developer conference this week. Microsoft says developers can use Visual Studio for Mac to create “Android, macOS, iOS, tvOS, watchOS, web, and cloud” apps. Microsoft released the initial preview version of Visual Studio for macOS last November. Microsoft also supports Visual Studio Code for Mac as well....

Windows 10 19H1 Preview Build 18298 File Explorer improvements include an updated icon and updated default download folder sorting. There are new start menu improvements that continue to improve upon those with build 18290. You can now utilize the “Quick unpin for groups and folders” which lets you quickly start fresh and reorganize you Start menu layout. Today’s build also includes improvements to the Touch Keyboard for faster response. Console updates which include a new Terminal tab in the Properties page....

Microsoft has today launched Send, an experimental iPhone app that offers a kind of cross between email and instant messaging. Microsoft says that it is designed for “brief, snappy communications” where you want an instant response but also want to retain a record of what was said within Outlook. The app was previously leaked as Flow by Outlook. Today it puts its Windows Mobile line in question by acquiring Danger. Danger built the Sidekick device platform that is very popular with the consumer smartfphone public, but has faltered recently because of the superior Symbian and iPhone operating systems and the Sidekick’s tier 2 hardware made by Sharp and Motorola. The Sideckick OS has very little in the way of multimedia to offer consumers. However, they are only available with the previous-generation AMD Ryzen mobile processors versus the then-current 11th generation Intel Core CPUs.
